Privacy

A short, practical privacy policy.

Last updated: August 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how toThe.App handles information when you visit the website, create a short link, or open a toThe.App link.

Information we collect

When you create a short link, we collect the destination URL, your IP address, and approximate location context, and generate a short code so we can provide the service. When you submit an abuse or DMCA report, we record the details you enter along with your IP address and the same approximate location context. We do not require an account and do not ask for your name, phone number, or other profile information beyond what a report requires.

Approximate location means a city, region and country estimated from your IP address. We resolve it on our own servers using an offline geolocation database; your IP address is never sent to a third-party lookup service, and the estimate is not precise geolocation.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, or click analytics. Your browser may provide standard technical information to our hosting and security providers as part of delivering a web request.

How we use information

We use stored link information to create, redirect, and maintain short links. We may use technical information to prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, keep the service reliable, and comply with legal obligations.

Storage and service providers

Link data is stored on the infrastructure used to operate toThe.App. Our hosting and infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare, may process requests and limited operational logs on our behalf. These providers may process information in locations outside your country.

Retention and deletion

We retain destination URLs and short codes for as long as needed to provide active links and protect the service. Operational logs are kept only as needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal requirements. To ask about a link or request deletion, contact us with the short URL and relevant details.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you should avoid submitting confidential information in a URL.

Children and external links

toThe.App is not directed at children under 13. Short links may lead to third-party websites or apps with their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for how those third parties handle information.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions, privacy requests, and abuse reports can be sent to[email protected].
